Reverie Choir: The Passing of the Year

Reverie presents an innovative programme of contemporary British choral music on the subject of the passing of time. From Maxwell Davies vividly pictorial music describing the cycle of a year on the isle of Hoy, and Herbert Howells evocative setting of Bryan Guiness’ poem ‘The Summer is Coming’, to Jonathan Dove’s emotional welcoming of the new millennium in ‘The Passing of the Year’, Reverie explores a variety of composers responses to the turning of the seasons. The concert includes a world premiere of a newly commissioned work by exciting young composer, Freya Waley-Cohen. Conducted by Robbie Jacobs.
